Volunteer Benefits

As a thank you for your help, all volunteers receive:

  • Complimentary 4-hour expo-only badge (valid for exhibit-hall access)

  • Onsite training session before the event


Volunteers must complete a 1-hour training session at McCormick Place on. Details will be shared closer to the event.

Volunteer Requirements

All volunteers must attend a 1-hour Volunteer Training Session at McCormick Place on [Insert Date]. The training will cover venue orientation, role responsibilities, and common attendee needs.

Volunteer Roles Available

Responsibilities
  • Check in attendees and take tickets
  • Accompany the tour group or bus
  • Serve as point of contact for the tour company
  • Remain at the starting point for late arrivals
Requirements

Comfortable with basic A/V and tech

Responsibilities
  • Check attendee registration lists
  • Support presenter laptop/projector setup
  • Ensure lapel mic is positioned correctly
  • Explain how to use slide advance or laser pointer (if needed)
  • Help keep sessions on schedule
  • Hand off audience mic for Q&A
  • Troubleshoot basic A/V issues
Requirements

Comfortable with basic A/V and tech

Responsibilities
  • Same as session room monitors (above), but assigned to one of the Exhibit Hall stages. You’ll support presenters and ensure sessions stay on time and on brand.

  • Check attendee badges at entry
  • Help fill the room from front to back
  • Provide directional support during session entry
Responsibilities
  • Greet attendees
  • Provide wayfinding help for meeting rooms, sessions, and activities
  • Maintain a friendly, visible presence in high-traffic areas
Requirements
  • Strong conversational English
  • Able to stand for long periods
  • Friendly and welcoming demeanor
Responsibilities
  • Answer general event questions
  • Direct attendees to Registration for ticketing, event access, or badge issues
Responsibilities
  • Verify badges at the door and inside the venue
  • Help authors place posters and find supplies (pushpins, tape, etc.)
  • Assist attendees with locating sections via floor plans
  • Clear the room at the end of the session
