Collegiate/GOLD Activities Connect Students and Recent Graduates with the Experts in the Industry The future engineers of the electric power industry who are enrolled and studying at colleges and universities will have an opportunity to present papers they have prepared under the supervision of a sponsoring professor. Each university is invited to submit its best student paper on any topic related to new developments in power delivery and operations. The participating student and author of each paper is required to be either an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of the conference. The papers and presentations will be judged and evaluated by a panel of engineers from the industry and higher learning. A special collegiate luncheon from 11:30 am - 1:00pm and job fair from 9:00am - 11:00 am is scheduled for Wednesday, April 21. Student Poster Sessions are scheduled on Tuesday, April 20, between 12:00 noon and 2:00 pm in the Exposition Hall (Hall F). Both of these activities will provide an excellent opportunity for students to network with industry professionals as well as other students. The GOLD Session will be in Room 271 of the New Orleans Convention Center, Tuesday, 20-Apr-2010, room available Students are reminded that conference badges will be required for all conference functions including entry into the exhibit area. DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO RECRUIT STUDENTS AT THE COLLEGIATE JOB FAIR AND INDUSTRY LUNCHEON The 2010 IEEE PES Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exposition is pleased to announce a new initiative in workforce development. The 2010 T and D event will feature a Collegiate Job Fair and an Industry Luncheon. Both are designed to help you and your organization recruit your next generation of engineers. The Student Job Fair will take place on Wednesday, April 21, from 9:00am – 11:00am in exhibit hall F of the convention center, preceding the Collegiate/GOLD/Industry Luncheon at 11:30am. The Job Fair affords participants from utilities and contracted exhibitors the opportunity to purchase a booth at the Job Fair . The Job Fair setting allows companies to conduct interviews with students who are interested in a career in the power and energy industry. The purchase of a Job Fair booth will include an area of 10 ft. X 10 ft. and a 8 ft. backwall and a 3 ft. draped side rail. Also included in the booth package is a standard 7 in. X 44 in. company ID sign, one 6 ft. skirted table and 4 chairs. Companies participating in the Job Fair will also receive one complimentary ticket to the Collegiate /GOLD/Industry Luncheon. Companies interested in participating in the Job Fair will have the opportunity to review student resumes, contact students and arrange interviews or booth visits at the 2010 T and D prior to the opening of the conference and exposition. Students who attend the conference will post their resumes online prior to attending.
